Deepak R. Ghosh, Managing Director
Deepak is a Managing Director of The Silverfern Group
and brings over 12 years of Mergers & Acquisitions, restructuring
and financing experience to the Silverfern team. He has provided advisory
services to a wide variety of domestic and international clients, mostly
in the chemicals, plastics, packaging and industrial sectors. Over
his twenty three year professional career, he has been involved in
the strategic analysis and tactical implementation of over $15 billion
in Mergers & Acquisitions transactions, including domestic and
international acquisitions, divestitures, shareholder value analysis,
fairness opinions and joint venture analysis/implementation with both
public and private companies as well as $40 billion in corporate and
structured financing transactions.
Prior to joining Silverfern, Deepak was a Senior Vice
President & Global
Head of Chemicals/Industrials at GE Capital for five years where he
specialized in providing financings for corporate acquisitions and
leveraged buyouts, project and structured financing solutions to global
corporations, equity investing, and helped manage a multibillion dollar
portfolio of debt and equity securities. During his tenure at GE Capital,
Deepak founded the Chemicals/Industrials industry coverage vertical,
was responsible for maintaining relationships with senior executives
at over fifty global corporations in this sector and closed over thirty
transactions representing $18 billion of corporate financings.
Prior to GE Capital, Deepak spent six years in the
investment banking departments of Young & Partners, Bear Stearns & Co and Salomon
Smith Barney focused on providing M&A, investment banking and financing
services broadly to global companies in the chemicals, healthcare,
forest products and energy sectors. Deepak began his professional career
as a consulting engineer at The Parsons Corporation and The Shaw Group
where he was responsible for providing consulting/engineering services
and construction of chemical/environmental process systems and plants
for global companies such as Merck, ExxonMobil, Shell, Eastman Chemical,
Olin Corporation and the US Department of Defense.
Based in New York, Deepak leads Silverfern's Industrials/Chemicals/Packaging
Merchant Banking business.
Deepak earned his Masters of Business Administration
degree from Goizueta Business School at Emory University. He received
his Master of Science degree in Environmental Systems Engineering at
Clemson University and his Bachelor of Science degree, with Honors,
in Chemical Engineering from Jadavpur University in India.
