Paul Schröder,
Managing Director
Paul is a Managing Director of The Silverfern Group and brings
over 30 years of principal investing and corporate management experience
to the Silverfern team. He has made numerous principal investments
in growing businesses in Europe and has additionally managed numerous
successful exits from companies he has led investments in.
Prior to joining Silverfern, Paul was most recently Managing Partner
of Capital-C Ventures BV, which completed the management led secondary
buyout of the high technology portfolio of Residex Ventures BV, one
of the oldest venture capital firms in Holland where Paul was CEO,
in partnership with ING Holding NV. Residex had approximately €1.2
bn under management, focusing on Private Equity, Venture Capital,
Agritech, ICT and Life Science investments. At Residex Paul managed
several high-profile exits, including SNT Group NV, ZorgVoorzieningen
Nederland NV, SQL Systems BV, AlpInvest NV, Euroventures Hungary
BV, Phonex Telecom BV, and Essentium BV.
Before Residex, Paul was a Co-Founder and Co-Managing Partner of Intercapital
Investments BV, a (corporate) Venture Capital and Private Equity
firm. Intercapital managed KPN Ventures, one of the first corporate
venture capital programs in Holland.
Paul has extensive managerial experience, including being a non-executive
Board member at Interxion Holding NV (NYSE: INXN), a member of the
Advisory Board at Mapper Lithography BV, a non-executive Board member
at Bizworld, and being a past Chairman of the Board of the Dutch
Venture Capital and Private Equity Association.
Based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Paul co-leads Silverfern’s
merchant banking business in Europe with responsibility for originating
proprietary investment opportunities for Silverfern’s investment
partners, in addition to interfacing with senior CEOs, company founders
and owners on the Silverfern Advisory Board.
Paul earned his Bachelor Degree in Civil Law from the University of
Utrecht and an engineering degree from the Polytechnic of Haalem,
the Netherlands. He is fluent in four languages: Dutch, English,
French and German.
