Amsterdam, The Netherlands, November 1, 2018 – The Silverfern Group, an investment management firm making direct investments in middle market private equity, US CRE private debt and real estate globally, today announced that it has exited its investment in its Dutch Residential Platform in partnership with Orange Capital Partners (“OCP”) following the successful sale of the units to CBRE Global Investors.
Silverfern’s Dutch Residential Platform was created in partnership with OCP to indirectly invest in residential real estate portfolios in the greater Amsterdam region of the Netherlands, and controlled 960 units across four property portfolios located throughout Amsterdam: Viper, Zen, Duke, and Change=. Overall, the properties are located in high-demand and supply constrained locations.
Victor van Bommel, CEO of Orange Capital Partners commented: “We are very pleased with the result, but equally we are sad that this marks the end of our first partnership. In the past 4 years we have succeeded in building a unique portfolio in Amsterdam through a series of acquisitions. We have significantly improved the overall quality of the portfolio by investing heavily in energy efficiency and modernization. We have succeeded in upgrading a portfolio of period Amsterdam housing in high quality institutional product.”
Silverfern Co-Managing Partner Reeta Holmes added, “Silverfern is proud to have partnered with OCP to create real value in the Amsterdam residential real estate marketplace, as clearly demonstrated by our successful exit to CBRE, one of the world’s premier owners of institutional-quality real estate assets. Our on-the-ground local experience in the Amsterdam market and prior experience in the multi-family space was invaluable in assessing this opportunity and in generating superior returns for our investors in European Real Estate.”
Silverfern is a global middle-market, multi-asset class investment management firm, and invests on behalf of both major institutional investors and a global network of more than 65 of the world’s largest and most sophisticated multi-billion-dollar single family offices. Through its private equity offices in New York, Amsterdam, Frankfurt and Sydney, and its real estate offices (in collaboration with 3650 REIT) in Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Chicago and Newport Beach, Silverfern makes direct investments in middle market Private Equity, U.S. Commercial Real Estate Private Debt (Silver3TG), and Direct Real Estate.
